With doctors warning that the combination of COVID-19 and flu could make you really sick, a digital campaign that highlights how vaccines make a difference, even for people who've had COVID, is being launched this week by COORDINARE in partnership with local Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs).

Co-design improvements in partnership with Aboriginal people

COORDINARE is committed to improving access to culturally sensitive and respectful primary care for the more than 24,000 people who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander within South Eastern NSW. In June 2021, COORDINARE funded five mainstream general practices.

Cooma Mobile Breastscreen Van – book yourfree breast screen today!

The BreastScreen NSW mobile clinic will visit Cooma Multifunction Centre (via Cromwell Street) from March 14 to April 15. The service is recommended every two years for women aged 50 – 74. Women aged 40 – 49 and 75 and over are also welcome and eligible.

Local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander vaccination rates in South Eastern NSW hit eighty percent target

More than 80 percent of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in South Eastern NSW are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as of 23 November according to the latest data released by the Department of Health.

Aboriginal health leaders report an increase in vaccination rates amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the South Eastern NSW region but are urging community members to keep second dose appointments and to stick to the same vaccine.

Local Aboriginal health leaders say COVID vaccination gap can be closed

Indigenous Australians are behind non-Indigenous Australians in the vaccination rollout, new data has revealed, but local Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) leaders are confident that they can enhance the rollout as Pfizer supplies increase.
