A key objective of COORDINARE’s Patient Centred Medical Home (PCMH) Innovation Project was to identify opportunities to build capacity and capability in SENSW general practices in adopting a Patient Centred Medical Home model of care.
The funding period for the pilots has now ceased and we are keen to use the learnings from the project to work with general practice more broadly across the region to support them with Business and Financial Planning which is key to a successful PCMH model of care.
COORDINARE are partnering with AGPAL to provide general practices in our catchment a series of one-day workshops between March and June 2019 to be held in Wollongong, Batemans Bay and Queanbeyan. These multidisciplinary interactive workshops will focus on: implementing innovative models of care; team development and implementation of team-based care; and business and financial planning for primary care practices.
The third workshop held will be ‘Business and Finance’ covering:
- Implementing innovative business models (Audit of existing model; review systems and processes; and development of improved model)
- System and process redesign
- Business performance
- Risk management
- Knowledge management, and
- Measurement, monitoring, benchmarking and analytics.
The workshop is open to whole of general practice, GPs, managers, nurses and receptionist are encouraged to attend.
