Assistant Minister and Member for Eden-Monaro visit Goulburn health services

Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, The Hon Emma McBride MP and Member for Eden-Monaro, The Hon Kristy McBain MP, visited Goulburn today to meet staff and tour local health and mental health services.

Their first stop was the Goulburn Mental Health Hub, which offers free clinical and peer-led mental health support. Since opening in 2023, the Hub has helped over 200 clients, with services funded by COORDINARE under its Psychological Therapies initiative.

At headspace Goulburn, the Ministers met with members of the Youth Reference Group (YRG) and staff to discuss youth mental health services. They heard about the centre’s success in reducing wait times and expanding outreach to local high schools, supported by increased funding.

Finally, the Ministers toured Goulburn Urgent Care Service, which can provide care for urgent but not life threatening injuries and illnesses. Patients can call Healthdirect on 1800 022 222 to access the service which is open 365 days a year, from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday.
